Vice President and Research Director of Climate Risk & Resilience at FM, one of the world’s largest commercial and industrial property insurers.
Angelika leads FM’s global research activities relating to climate risk and is based at the new Science and Technology Centre under development in Luxembourg. Her diverse team of scientists study flood, wildfire, temperature events, wind, and other severe storms and are located in the U.S. (Norwood, Massachusetts), Asia (Singapore) and EMEA (Luxembourg).
Prior to joining FM, Angelika was strategy manager for Reinsurance and Solutions at Swiss Re, where she also held positions in innovation and natural catastrophe model development. Her career includes working as a catastrophe risk analyst for Allianz, an R&D manager for Wills Re, and leading the Willis Research Network Climate Hub. Angelika holds a bachelor and master of science in meteorology from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and a doctorate degree in science from Macquarie University in Sydney.
