Matthew Foote leads the Risk Intelligence team in Howden’s Climate Risk and Resilience function. He created the ‘Howden Resilience Laboratory’ in partnership with Microsoft, to develop innovative approaches to the quantification and assessment of emerging risks and to help clients develop effective risk management strategies and solutions.
With nearly 30 years’ experience in the re/insurance industry, Matthew previously held a staff position at the World Bank in the Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance team as well as senior roles in exposure management, catastrophe analytics and consulting.
A Chartered Geographer and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Matthew is also the Chair of the Global Risk Modelling Alliance’s Strategic Advisory Board, and the UK Principal Representative to the Intergovernmental Panel on Earth Observation (GEO) Programme Board.
